Arthur: Trailer No. 2. Brace Yourself | Clothes on Film

© 2011, Warner Bros. A second trailer for Arthur featuring a topper donned Russell Brand and cardigan wearing Helen Mirren has arrived. Can the film possibly be as likeable as this footage implies? Arthur is a remake of the much loved 1981 movie of the same name starring Dudley Moore. When this idea was announced in 2008 it is fair to say most folk dismissed it as another pointless rehash. Yet, judging by this and the recently released first trailer, it could be a lot of silly, if ultimately pointless fun. Brand as Arthur really does look superb, too. Costume designer Juliet Polcsa (Brooklyn’s Finest, 79 episodes of The Sopranos)…

Film Review: 2012 | Clothes on Film

© 2009, Clothes on Film Starring: John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet Directed By: Roland Emmerich 2012 is an unbelievably dumb and sentimental movie. The plot sags like a soggy biscuit and the science is utter garbage. Neither of which would matter much but the whole thing is so drawn out it could give you haemorrhoids. If the end of the world is coming, you’ll be preying it would come a damn sight faster and preferably right on top of where you are sitting first. Okay, so even for a disaster movie 2012 is definitely stupid, but is it funny stupid, say in the same way as Irwin Allen’s deadly…

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trailer Looks Magic | Clothes on Film

© 2010, Clothes on Film Love them or loathe them, every couple of years a new Harry Potter movie ambles along, its young cast gradually coming to resemble the most clean living group of teenagers ever to grace the screen. However all that fun is set to end with the release of final film in the series Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in two parts (2010, 2011), and here, at last, is the trailer. Verdict? If you like Potter, you are going to like this. Cannot say fairer than that. Just as directors of the now seven strong collection have been varied, so too have costume designers. Probably the…
