The Hangover: More Costume Questions Answered | Clothes on Film
Being as she is an extremely nice person, costume designer for The Hangover (2009), Louise Mingenbach, has answered more of your questions about who wears what in the movie. So with some help from her assistant designer Alison McCosh, here we go with the answers… Clothes on Film: Where were Heather Graham’s costumes and sunglasses purchased? Louise Mingenbach: I think most everything was bought and fitted in LA before we left for Las Vegas, except the stripper’s costumes were purchased in Vegas. Her sunglasses were vintage too from a great store here in LA. God, I can picture it…but what’s the name..? I don’t think I can come up with…

Theoni V. Aldridge | Clothes on Film
Costume’s read all about it this week. Eyes of Laura Mars Guise analyses the influential costume classic. Just don’t call it ‘fashion’. The O.C. Tyranny of Style’s fantastic, mammoth look back the costumes of The O.C. Remember Seth’s reindeer Christmas jumper? I Love Lucy Lucille Ball’s polka dot dress sold at auction for $168,000, along with Hugh Jackman’s X-Men costume ($22,000) and Tom Cruise’s Rain Man suit ($30,000). Elysium Giorgio Armani talks about his contribution to Elysium, which we’re guessing was at star Jodie Foster’s insistence not costume designer April Ferry. Lovelace Karyn Wagner explains how she created Amanda Seyfried’s rudey look as Linda Boreman aka Lovelace.

World War Z neatly demonstrates the art of breaking down and distressing costume. Costume in The Cabin in the Woods is not grand, but it is very clever. All the teenage characters subtly evolve from one horror stereotype to another. A mishmash of sci-fi conventions and clichés cobbled together as something we have never quite seen before.

First Look: Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man | Clothes on Film – Part 18589
Well, first proper look anyway, here in the still untitled Spider-Man reboot directed by Marc Webb. There is not much to see, though it is a nice shot of star Andrew Garfield in the full outfit, minus mask. (15/02/11): Now first and second look… here is the next teaser image released by Columbia, this time what looks to be an entirely CG pic. At least we get a nice reveal of the web spinners + a title: The Amazing Spider-Man. In this image it does not appear that costume designer Kym Barrett (The Matrix, Eragon) has reworked the classic (or should that be ‘ultimate’?) Spider-Man uniform too heavily. The ‘webbing’…

helmet | Clothes on Film
The latest MCU smash-hit, Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), features one of the strangest villains in the wallcrawler’s rogues’ gallery. When it comes to movies based on comic books, the outfit a character like Mysterio wears is not supposed to work on-screen. On the printed pages of comics, the outfits can be impractical and outlandish, and nothing is more of those things than the villain’s fishbowl helmet, lavender cape fastened with giant eyes, and green, scaly tights. Still, costume designer for the film, Anna B. Sheppard, met the challenge of making a fantastic look for Jake Gyllenhaal’s villain. Instead of running away from the crazy roots of the character, she……
